The Tendring peninsula is one of the driest areas in the UK. To make it worse we used to have one of the most expensive water companies in the UK Tendring Hundred who pumped water from underground. But thanks to competition and investment our water rates are average now. Every evening hubby waters the garden and lawn where we have levelled and reseeded. Some of the seed has taken but lots hasn't. We'll just have to persevere.
I woke at 4 this morning feeling very hot and clammy, it was extremely warm yesterday with very little breeze. So, despite having windows and doors open all day the indoor temperature was 23°. I changed the bed linen to summer weight quilts months ago because I like a cold bedroom and thin bedding.
As I made a cup of tea I heard an unfamiliar sound outside.....rain. I opened the french door and it was raining, not pouring but a steady rainfall that continued through till 7:30 when it became a fine drizzle.
At last everything is looking a little better. And hopefully the cucumber and tomato plants will go from strength to strength. I think we have a little more rain to come later today and then its wall to wall sunshine for the foreseeable!
We've taken delivery of a few bits for the garden, more about that soon. Bye for now. Tx
